My name is Dann Aungst. I am a recovering sex addict. I was addicted for over 30 years and have been in recovery for over 12.  My story involves pornography, massage parlors, affairs and prostitution. I was helplessly and hopelessly addicted. I truly believed that there was no way out. It wasn’t until I hit rock bottom by nearly destroying my family, that I gradually found the multiple sources of the help I needed. In a process that took several years of commitment, peer support and education, all lead by faith, that I discovered true freedom. It’s this freedom that I have committed my life to bring to you.

In my recovery I discovered the truth about sexuality, (God’s way) and the REAL reason I was seeking sexual fulfillment. I believed that I needed it to both escape the shame of the unbearable inner person I believed I was, and to chase the lie that sex and other women would somehow make me ‘ok’. 

 

Men, Porn is NOT about sex! 

 

With my apostolate Road to Purity, I created a program called Restoring God’s Foundation. In the creation of Restoring God’s Foundation, I combine my personal experience, my education as an addiction counselor (which I earned during my recovery), my experience working with countless other men and an infusion of Catholic Faith. In Restoring God’s Foundation, we attack the roots of the problem. These roots are present in virtually every person that struggles with sinful porn or sexual behaviors. 

Let me share briefly how the process works. RGF is a three phase/35 week in depth program that gradually leads you through the process of personal growth, healing and freedom. Our approach is like any other serious trauma that sends a person to the ER. We need to get you stable first and out of crisis. (ANY level of this behavior is a crisis as it endangers your mortal soul). We do this by guiding you to address why you are here. Why you are interested in doing this program. (And by the way, if you are at all involved in porn use, you do need this program!). Then we lead you through a process of tools such as boundaries, strategies, an inventory of behavior, and so much more.  

We then infuse the Catholic faith and teaching into the disordered behavior by bringing in concepts such as Theology of the Body, The Sacraments and our Blessed Mother and how She is so powerful in the battle. 

We address the truth about the physical, emotional and psychological triggers and dangers of pornography use.  

The largest part of the program is about healing. Discovering WHY we do what we do. Discovering what is underneath the cravings and behavior choices - and not just porn! The lies we listen to both by the world and by our spiritual enemy. How normal life leads down the path of a poor self-image, lies about our self-identity, and lies about authentic intimacy. And most importantly, precisely how to dismantle each one of these, receive authentic love and become free from the disordered way of thinking and behavior

A large part of the resistance to move forward and attack a behavior as shameful as porn and sex addiction, is that you feel that you are alone and that no one understands you. This is a complete lie! Consider this: over 50% of men and 20% of women feel they are addicted to pornography. 67% of men between 18 and 35 looks at pornography weekly. 11 million teens view porn daily. The worldwide DAILY porn user base is over 400 million users. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Restoring God’s Foundation is the ONLY TRULY Catholic program of its kind. The program has been reviewed by theologians, clergy and Catholic counselors in the Archdiocese of Denver. In fact, an Imprimatur was granted by Most Reverend Samuel J. Aquila, S.T.L. Archbishop of Denver.

 In fact, the St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver have been using Restoring God’s Foundation for two years with its Seminarians. Prior to using the program, the formator in charge stated that they have used nearly every program out there and nothing else has worked until now. 

ARE YOU READY TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE?

We know that not everyone has the same level of comfort, available time or finances. So we have three options for you. 

Option #1. Live Session weekly meeting format. This is the best and most successful option. It includes live meetings (with a facilitator) via Zoom conference software for the ‘face to face’ powerful experience – this option is paramount for full success. Includes weekly lessons, homework modules, and bonus video material from the creator. The recovery lessons each week are presented in both text AND audio book format for your convenience. 

 The cost of this version of Restoring God’s Foundation is $17.50/mo. (the cost is capped at 10 months. Many groups take a little longer due to missed meetings because of holidays and some topics are encouraged to be discussed over multiple weeks)

 Option #2 – Independent Study. This version is identical to the Live Session program except without the Live Zoom meetings. Content, lessons, audio, text, homework, and bonus material are all included. We understand that for various reasons, some people, due to schedules or personal comfort levels, are not able attend a live face to face meeting. This edition is a one-time fee of $97 ( can be split up over 3 payments of $33 if desired).  A bonus of this edition is that if at any time, you decide to join a Live meeting group, we credit you $90 of your purchase towards the live program. This is done by discounting the live program by $9 per month making it only $8.50/mo. Also note that at times, groups are not available to join so the independent study version is an excellent way to get started and when a group opens up, you can join it without losing your prior investment! And you keep your independent study version that you already paid for!

 Option #3 Accountability Groups. Accountability groups are groups that meet using the live, face to face Zoom conference application included. We offer some basic meeting protocols, our standard Check-in Accountability rounds which are also used in the Full Live program. We include a short “getting started” lesson that is required to complete before joining the group. This ensures that all members of the group have a common basis when meeting. This groups is also led by a facilitator. Cost for this Edition is only $4.50/mo and is on-going. Unlike the course format, this group allows individuals to consistently join and weekly participation is encouraged but is more relaxed than the Full Live course. 

 

 

These three options give nearly anyone the ability to take a safe first step and move towards ending this embarrassing and shameful behavior towards freedom.
